REVIEW OF SAMSUNG GALAXY S DUOS

Gone are those days when people used to move around with two cell phones. We now have what is called as Dual SIM phones. The Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 is one model which has built on the success of Samsung Galaxy S. It combines the facility of two phones into one. It is a high end Android phone which has the capability of dual SIMs. Announced in July 2012, this device can easily allow the user to select the SIM with enhanced coverage and use it for communication purposes.
Design and Build
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 is endowed with the full touch bar form factor along with dual standby feature added to it. It also has a vivid 4” touch screen that enables users to use its screen to the optimum. Due to its 4” touch screen it offers its owners an interface through which they can view videos, movies on demand and much more. Additionally, it also supports the 3G network with its HSDPA 900/1200 feature. Endowed with a TFT capacitive touch screen having a display of 16M colours, it shows images @ 480x800 pixels with a pixel density of 233 ppi. It also has a microSD slot and an expandable memory of up to 32 GB, with 4 GB internal storage and 768 MB RAM. It has the Android OS v4.0 and is often labelled as ice cream sandwich. Its OS is upgradable to v4.1. With a CPU of 1GHz and a GPU of Adreno 200, this phone also has sensors that have the functions of accelerometer and compass on it. It supports both MMS, SMS, email and push email features with an HTML browser and Adobe Flash Lite added to it. As if that is not enough, it also has a stereo FM radio with RDS.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562 has a revolutionary 5 MP camera as its primary camera, which shows images @ 2592x1944 pixels, has autofocus facility coupled with an LED flash.  An additional feature of geo-tagging is also present which helps the user label the images, photographs and videos taken with it. The only hitch in its camera feature is its VGA video facility that plays videos @ 30fps.  There is also a secondary camera, albeit of VGA variety.   The autofocus feature of the primary camera really adds a touch of distinctiveness to the Samsung Galaxy S Duos.
Interface
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos has a rich Android 4.0 OS, which is upgradable to v4.1 too. Its browser supports HTML and Adobe Flash Lite software. Its TFT capacitive touch screen endowed with 16M colours shows a display @ 480x800 pixels. Its 4” width is a gift for all those who view movies, videos, etc on the move. To go with all this, it has a multi touch functioning capability that enables the user to access its features very easily. It is also blessed with a sturdy 768MB RAM, coupled with strong 4GB internal storage. Additionally, there is also a microSD card slot to go with its 32GB external memory card.  
Connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy S Duos has the distinctive feature of being a dual SIM phone, in that, it functions as a dual SIM phone with both the SIMs working simultaneously. Both the SIMs of GSM technology support frequencies of 850/900/1800/1900 MHz.  Since it offers the 3G connectivity option it allows on both its SIMs to browse the internet, download and video message on its GSM network. This phone has the GPS facility that helps the user locate addresses through its map feature.

Battery Life

Talking of batteries, it is powered by standard Li-ion 1500mAh batteries which have a stand-by time of upto 445 hours on the 2G and upto 330 hours on the 3G networks. With a total talk time of upto 13 hours on 2G and upto 7 hours 25 mins on 3G, this phone surely has enough talk time to last you through the whole day without being charged. Available in a while colour and supporting MP4/H, 263/H, 264/WMV player and MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV players, this phone comes with features like an organizer, document viewer, voice memo/dial, and an option of giving predictive text inputs.  Thus, the Samsung Galaxy S Duos is a one of a kind gadget that combines the features of a smart phone and a dual SIM phone, to provide added benefits to the user.
